As we all know that I am not the best soccer player, but when you play, it doesn’t matter if you’re the best. Also, since it’s a team sport, there isn’t truly a “best player”. There is the possibility that there is the best team, and that is what I wish I could help my teammates and I become. The best soccer team right off the pitch.

By now you all probably know the soccer rules by now, but if you don’t here are a few. The basics is that the ball has to stay inside the lines on the side. If it goes out, then whichever team touched it last gives the ball to the other team for a throw in. Another rule is that the goalie can use his hand but only in the box that contains the goal. Lastly, a goal is scored once the ball rolls over the line, inside the goalposts. Thank you for reading, and remember, WORK HARD SOCCER!

To be a good midfielder you are going to have to do a few things. Let’s start with some basic knowledge. The midfielder position is between the offense and the defense. You have to subtly do a little bit of both. The position is mainly about control. Now to the meat of this position and it mostly is just to contain and support. You will have to, one, control the midfield. I mean by control it by running from side to side and up and down to get the ball from the opposing team’s feet, and into your own. Another thing you are going to have to do is settle the ball with your body, and by this, I mean the whole body. Remember you are a team, your job is to settle the ball and get it to the offense to score, the offense is supposed to score the ball. Also, do not get this confused with to try not to score, because this could also mess up your team. Take the shot if you have it, if not don’t try to be the all-star that saves the day because this rarely happens. Today, I will help you kick a ball with a curve to help you bend the balls into the goal. This has numerous uses like faking out a goalie with a shot, curving a corner kick to help your team, or kicking a ball to a teammate from the other side of the field. Depending on where you kick the ball will put a curve on it and send it in a certain direction. This takes a lot of practice, to know where you’re going to hit the ball and how hard. After watching this you should have a good idea of how to kick a ball, and to know how to use this curvature to a good use. Hitting the bottom of the ball sweeping up causes backspin causing the ball to not go as far, as opposing; if you hit the front and carry up, this causes forward spin causing the ball to go farther. You defend by cutting of the line of the offender. This forces them one way and makes them have a decision on where to play the ball. This creates stress and they would play the ball to one of your teammates. Don’t stab at the ball, this means they can outrun you and have a shot at goal. This is bad, so stand slanted, with the line cut off, and stand your ground. This allows your teammates to get back and assist you with the attack on the defender.
